One of my favorite snack foods is eating Whole Foods 365 brand Organic Maple & Onion Baked Beans right out of the can. Yup! I don't need it heated. Eating the beans out of the can reminds me of camping which brings me a sense of calm as I do like to sleep under the stars in fresh summer air.
I like baked beans as a snack because you can get protein and fiber with some sweet. Typically, I'll nosh on 1/3 the can which is 140 calories, 0g Fat, 0mg Cholesterol, and 7g Protein. The rest of the beans I will put into a plastic container and store in the fridge for snackage the next day. I like the baked beans cold too.
For some reason, I'm not into literally heating the baked beans, although I wouldn't pass up on the beans if cooked and paired with oh something like a BBQ grass fed beef hamburger.
Anyone else dig the baked beans?
