At first glance, you'd think there was real chicken on the plate. Believe it or not, this whole plate is vegan and gluten-free. Oh yes it is!
Remember awhile back I did a review of the new plant-based chicken strips from Beyond Meat? Well, now we have some Beyond Meat fajita style served at the hot foods bar at the Whole Foods Market in Lafayette, CA.
For a grain, I got a Red Quinoa Cucumber and Radish salad and for veggies, I scooped a heaping of green beans sauted in olive oil with onions, and topped with toasted almonds. I paired my meal with a coconut water. I know, I'm sounding almost too much like a Whole Foodie cliche.
And before you start thinking, whole paycheck, because I got everything at the hot bar which is $7.99/lb, this entire plate of food cost me $5.36. Oh yes it was!
The Beyond Meat chicken tastes better when it is sauteed with onions and fajita seasonings. Can I tell you, this was one of the best lucnhes I've had in awhile, and I felt light afterword, no heaviness.
