I love mayonnaise but I can't have it often because I have a Type II allergy to eggs which is not too acute, but nonetheless, it got me looking for mayo replacements without eggs. I tried Vegenaise, and it is okay, many people like it, but to my taste buds it wasn't hitting a home run.
Then, I one day I discovered Brianna's Home Style Poppy Seed Dressing which I got for a green salad. I tried the dressing on a sandwich and in tuna salad, and it was awesome! The PS dressing is on the sweet side, but I love it. I also love the multiple purposeness of being able to use it on sandwiches, salads, as a dipping sauce for veggies and fruit, and even to put on top of chicken or fish. I also swab a little of the dressing on when I make turkey and cheese roll-ups.
Brianna's Dressings are made of all natural ingredients and are free of preservatives and additives. Stats wise the Poppy Seed Dressing stands up pretty well against mayo for a single serving size of 1 TBsp. Here I will compare it to Whole Foods 365 Brand Mayo because both are made with Canola Oil and free of the preserves and adds:
Brianna's Poppy Seed Dressing
80 calories, 7g of Fat, 3.5g of Carbs, 0g of Protein
365 Brand Mayonnaise
100 calories, 10g of Fat, 0g of Carbs, 0g of Protein
For a comparison here's Kraft Regular Mayonnaise (Kraft uses Soybean Oil and a preservative)
90 calories, 10g of Fat, 0g of Carbs, 0g of Protein
And Original Vegenaise (Made with Canola Oil)
90 calories, 9g of Fat, 0g of Carbs, 0g of Protein
So, the Poppy Seed Dressing has less calories and fat than the others, but it has higher carbs due to more sugar. But, at 3.5g for 1 TBsp that doesn't seem so bad to me, and the taste is worth it. If you don't care for Poppy Seed flavoring, Brianna's has about a dozen other flavors like Lively Lemon Tarragon, Ginger Manadarin, and Chipotle Cheddar.
