One of the habits that helped me drop 40 pounds and keep it off five years now is eating green salad for breakfast. This morning for breakfast, I ate a combination of arugula, avocado, cranberry Quinoa salad from Whole Foods, plus cherry tomato, wlanuts, and some garbanzo beans. My drink is half Teajava iced tea and water on ice.

The reason I eat green salad is that it doesn't spike my blood sugar like anything with wheat or sugar in it. One of the things that can cause an afternoon energy slump is a morning spike in blood sugar.
