Isn't this beautiful?! This 6" fruit bowl is made by artisans mostly women in Rwanda. The design in the bowl represents Hope inspired from the Rwanda flag. Since I'm all about heartfulness in 2013, the design resonated with me immediately plus you know I love purple!
I was at Costco the other day and saw this fruit bowl along with a whole display of other beautiful handmade goods made in Rwanda through a non-profit organization called Rwanda Partners dedicated to improving the lives of the poor and marginalized in Rwanda.
I think this is a wonderful cause and awesome for Costco for placing them in the stores! There are an array of trivets, fruit and bread bowl designs to choose from plus other handmade goods like jewelry and bags. Check it out.
