I love the Clearance section at Fresh and Easy Market because you can find some of the most awesome deals. Most of the food in there is about 1-2 days from it's "sell by" date.
Yesterday, I found this 2oz. bag of washed and ready to eat Watercress for 52 cents! Normally, this bag of watercress is $1.49 which is still a deal in my opinion. This goes to show that if you keep your eyes open, you can find fresh healthy foods for real cheap.
At another market in my neighborhood, I found a pre-made Quinoa, butternut squash, cranberry, and almond salad in the deli section. I got a 1/4lb of the salad for $2.00.
At home for a pre-dinner salad, I put together the watercress with a couple scoops of the Quinoa salad. Voila! I created a fancy looking salad that's gluten-free, vegan, and soy-free or the price of three songs on iTunes.
